Northern Cardinal

You might assume that all Cardinals are a bright red, but that is actually incorrect. Cardinals can also come in other colors such as green and yellow. Even female Northern Cardinals are have duller beaks and faded red bodies. Male Northern Cardinals are the ones most commonly thought of with their bright red feathers and beak. Anyway, these birds reside in most of North America, but concentrated in the United States. They typically eat common bird food such as seeds or small insects and spiders. Its wingspan is about 12 inches and its body length is 9 inches. Northern Cardinals are also very territorial so they try to defend what is considered "their" territory to the best of their ability. They have even been reported to attack their reflections in a mirror if they feel threatened.

3-Toed Sloth

The 3-Toed Sloth is a herbivore that resides in the Amazon Rain forest. It moves very slowly as all sloths do, and it can grow only about 2 feet long. Their claws have such a good grip that some sloths have been reported to have been found dead hanging on to branch with their claws.

Deinosuchus

Deinosuchus was an extinct alligator in the age of the dinosaurs. Most of them grow up to 50 ft long! It lived in the Cretaceous time period in the Mesozoic era. It was a fearsome predator and it ate anything that came to close to the water. Although it is dead now, its species lived on as the modern American Alligator.

Red Kangaroo

The Red Kangaroo has a pouch, that, we all know that. Most of us are aware that it is a marsupial as well. But do you know that a baby kangaroo is, at first, smaller than a cherry? Also they can grow sizes up to 3.5 to 5.5 feet and they can weigh up to 200 lbs. No wonder they're so jumpy! Also, they sometimes have fights to see who's the BOSS.

Mekong Giant Catfish

The Mekong Giant Catfish is the biggest catfish AND also one of the biggest freshwater fish. It can weigh up to 660 pounds and can grow to sizes such as 10 feet! It may sound big and bad but it is actually a pretty harmless fish, it doesn't have teeth either. It's color varies from grey to white, and has residence in the Mekong River from which it gets its name.

Giant Panda

Giant Pandas are a type of bear that is facing extinction. They say there only about 1,600 left in the wild, but about 300 in captivity. They currently live in China, specifically in the mountain regions. They can also grow up to 250-220 pounds along with sizes up to 6 feet. Although they have an addiction for bamboo, they are actually omnivores giving them the ability to eat meat as well.

Red & Green Macaw

Red & Green Macaws like most parrots visit cliffs where they eat bits of clay and other minerals that help with digestion. These Macaws eat lots of foods that include toxins. They grow up to 3 feet, and they regularly eat a variety of fruits, nuts and seeds. They are very colorful, and I honestly think they should be called Red and Blue Macaws.

Clydesdale

A Clydesdale is basically a type of draught horse that were originated in a town in Scotland called Clydesdale. They are commonly 5 to 6 feet tall, and weigh up to 2200 pounds. They are typically normal horses but with the addition of long, shaggy fur that covers the area near their hooves. Since they are a breed, they are mostly used for horseplay.

Gray Wolf

     The Gray Wolf is one of the closest ancestors to a dog. Their size can be up to 6 feet long and their weight, up to 170 lb. These perfect predators may be perfect and predators, but sadly, they are currently endangered because they served as a threat to livestock and also because hunters were shooting them down.

 

The Ocean Sunfish

The Ocean Sunfish,or the Mola is a giant fish.It is 11 feet(3.3 meters) and weighs up to 5000 pounds(2250 kilograms.But some are bigger,14 feet(4.2 meters). The word Mola in Latin means "millstone" which is like the ocean sunfish’s somewhat circular shape. They are a silvery color and are the heaviest of all bony fish and can breach up to ten feet(3 meters)in the air!

Texas Horned Lizard

The Texas Horned Lizard has excellent self-defense.These lizard can change colors for camouflage and inflate themselves to look more threatening.But when times are desperate,as if a wolf was nearby, it releases a squirt of blood from its eye.The Texas Horned Lizard obviously lives in Texas and it eats harvester ants, beetles and isopods.

American Black Bear

Recently I went to Cades Cove in the Smoky Mountains national park.It was great.Anyways I saw lots of Black Bears there.They are excellent tree climbers and are 5-6 feet(1.5 meters-1.8 meters)long.These bears eat lots of food including grasses, roots, berries, and insects. Sometimes even fish and other mammals.The best times to see these creatures are late evenings and early mornings.

Blue Jay

The Blue Jay of North America is a social, vocal bird.It looks big in this photo, but its real size 9.8 inches (25 centimeters)-11.8 inches (30 centimeters).The Blue Jay communicates by using a combination of calls, as well as face, crest and body movements.When a Blue Jay's crest is up it is aggressive.It is a omnivore by eating insects,nuts,seeds and grain.

Megalodon

There are lots of prehistoric creatures in the world.But none are quite amazing as Megalodon. This was a prehistoric nightmare that haunts the seas.They are a massive 60 feet.They ate anything they wanted.But they mostly ate whales and large fish.Looking at this picture,you see what I mean.But one question still remains. Do they still exist?I say they probably do.Many people saw sightings of it,and its a big ocean.Anything can live in it.

Nile Monitor Lizard

The Nile Monitor is a largely an aquatic lizard and one of the most biggest lizards in Africa , Sub-Saharan Africa that is. Their size is up to 8 feet (2.4 meters).It has tough skin,which is covered with bead-like scales,and nostrils located high up on their nose-an adaptation for swimming.They eat frogs, toads, rodents, birds and their eggs, fish, reptiles, beetles, crabs, earthworms, slugs, spiders, caterpillars, and millipedes.

Indian Pangolin

Indian Pangolins are covered with armor-like scales  made out of clumps of hair.They live India, Eastern Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.They have a strong stomach wall and a long and they have no teeth in their mouths.They eat mostly termites,but if times are tough,they'll eat ants too.They can weigh up to 77 pounds.

Golden Eagle

The Biggest Eagle in all of .....North America.Which is also Mexico's National Bird.They eat rabbits ,marmots and squirrels.Some have been known to eat deer.They can live for about 30 years.Golden Eagles build their nests on large trees and cliffs,sometimes, even on telephone poles!Golden eagles migrate depending on where they live.

Arapaima

The Arapaima is one of the largest species of freshwater fish.Surprisingly this fish breathes air.The Arapaima lives in warm shallow water.The way to find this fish, is to watch the surface of the water until the fish comes out of the water to breathe some air.Which it comes up every ten minutes or so.This fish is 9 feet(2.75 meters) long.

Black Mamba

The Black Mamba is a feared snake in Africa.Why?Because of its amazing element - speed.Moving at 13 miles per hour,the Black Mamba is the fastest fastest snake in the world.Their size is a massive 14 feet,and they can raise their heads 4 feet in the air.The Black Mamba,just so you know,is not exactly black.Its probably just a nick name.

Blue Whale

The Blue Whale is known as the largest creature that lives on the earth.Though it's kind of weird the Blue Whale eats little creatures called krill which are like shrimp.The Blue Whale is considered one of the animals in the endangered species list.Somehow the female Blue Whales are larger than males.Blue Whales live in almost all parts of the ocean.
